Tornado sirens yesterday evening marked the start of severe weather. Tornados were reported near Bennington and Nashville on this side of the Missouri River river and near Randolph and Essex in Iowa. Hail damage is evident throughout the region – many receiving baseball sized hail, along with damage from winds reaching up to 80 miles per hour. With the exception of a storm spotter in Dodge county getting hit with hail, there are no other reported injuries at this time.
Irvington, Bennington and Ponca Hills Fire and Rescue crews last night checked on people near 84th and Pawnee after severe damage to homes there. Other damage reported near 72nd street and Dutch Hall Road. (Photo courtesy of Kent Van Horn)
