EQUINE QUARTET, DRUNK DRIVERS KEEP WASHINGTON CO. DEPUTIES BUSY OVER WEEKEND


Arrests on the Washington County Sheriff’s Summary for the weekend include a 39 year old man in the 20 thousand block of County Road 28 for domestic assault, menacing and felony child abuse. A traffic stop on highway 75 ends in the arrest of a 38 year old man for drunk driving. A 42 year old woman arrested for drunk driving at highway 75 and Washington Avenue. A 25 year old man, initially pulled over for speeding, was found to be drinking and driving and was arrested for DUI.

Also on Sheriff Mike Robinson’s report issued today, a car-deer collision on Highway 133. Among the many other matters on that summary for June 16th through this morning – A large horse, two ponies and a donkey were found in the roadway in the 4100 block of County Road 39. The responding deputy found them loose again several hours later after the animals pushed the gates over. Animal neglect was suspected because neither food nor water was visible. A follow-up on the matter found that hay and water were available to the animals, but were not visible. The gate was fixed. (stock donkey photo)
