HERE’S WHAT’S HAPPENING IN OUR AREA…
The Washington County Gives Fundraising drive is coming up December 3rd. It’s a concerted effort to raise funds for the many Washington County non-profit organizations that serve our community- such organizations as the Washington County Food Pantry, Blair Radio, TeamMates, Roots to Wings and so many more. The Blair Public Library’s Gingerbread Contest is Tuesday, December 3rd at 4pm. Ginger Bread Kits are available now at the Circulation Desk. A parent or guardian must be present.
Christmas for the Coat Drive – Thru Breakfast is Wednesday, December 11th behind Joseph’s Coat. A breakfast sandwich from Butch’s Rock’n Deli, donut holes from Connie’s Donuts, beverages from Moon Hollow Coffee – ten dollars – all proceeds support the Washington County Food Pantry.
Volunteers and donations are needed for the Annual Washington County Community Thanksgiving at Saint Francis Borgia Catholic Church. It’s Thursday, November 28th from 11am to 2pm. Sign up details can be found on the Saint Francis Borgia Facebook page.
Fort Calhoun’s Catholic and Presbyterian Churches are working together to help provide Christmas presents for local families in need. Jesse Trees, or Angel trees are set up at both churches, the Conoco station and the Longhorn with tags with the information for gifts. The deadline to help is November 30th.
