HERE’S WHAT’S HAPPENING IN OUR AREA…


Blair’s Memorial Community Hospital is hosting a Lunch and Learn on a new holistic approach to women’s health on November 19th from noon to 1pm at the Howard Conference Room. Call 402-426-1464 to register.


The Blair Public Library’s Gingerbread Contest is Tuesday, December 3rd at 4pm. Ginger Bread Kits are available starting November 12th at the Circulation Desk. A parent or guardian must be present.


A Migratory Bid Program is this Saturday and Sunday at the DeSoto and Boyer Chutes National Wildlife Refuge. It starts at the visitor center at 10am and then will branch out into the refuge. You will need your own vehicle, binoculars will be available for loan. More information can be found at the refuge Facebook page.


Applications for the upcoming Shop with a Cop program put on by the Blair Police FOP Lodge 83 – are now available. You can copy them from the lodge’s Facebook page or pick up applications at the police station. Applications must be submitted by a family, an anonymous citizen or members of the community. The completed application is due by November 22nd at the police department.


Volunteers and donations are needed for the Annual Washington County Community Thanksgiving at Saint Francis Borgia Catholic Church. It’s Thursday, November 28th from 11am to 2pm. Sign up details can be found on the Saint Francis Borgia Facebook page.


Nailed It – a cake decorating competition is Saturday morning November 23rd from 10 to 11:30 at the Blair Public Library. This is for those aged 18 and up . You can register in person or by calling the Library at 402-426-3617


Santa’s Partners for Seniors is seeking those wanting to make Christmas a little more cheerier for residents in the various facilities in Washington County. Several beauty salons are teaming up to make this a reality. Among those businesses – The Darling Room, Hair Designs Unlimited, Luxe Skin and Ahead of the Curve.
