
HERE’S WHAT’S HAPPENING IN OUR AREA…
The Persia, Iowa Fire and Rescue Department is having a fundraising breakfast this coming Sunday, February 23rd at the Persia Fire Hall – it is a buffet with a wide variety of breakfast foods. It starts at 7:30 and runs through 11am. Adults are ten dollars, kids 12 and under are 5 dollars, and those aged two and under are free. Proceeds go towards purchase of new equipment.
The Blair Sons of the American Legion Squadron 154 is having their annual Wild Game Feed, Friday, February 21st from 5:30 to 8pm at the Fort Calhoun Catholic Church Social Hall. Cost is 25 dollars for those over the age of 21, 15 dollars for those 13 to 20, kids under 12 are free. Tickets are available at the door. Proceeds from the Wild Game Feed go towards helping Veterans Programs.
The MCH Auxiliary’s Ladies Quarter Mania Night Out is Friday, February 28th at the American Legion – preview shopping is at 6, the event starts at 7. Entry for this fundraiser is 20 dollars. Proceeds go to medical scholarships.
Free Storm spotter training by the National Weather Service will be provided at several locations across the state of Nebraska and parts of Western Iowa. An online training will be available as well. For times and locations, go online to weather.gov/oax/spotter
The Harrison County Food Pantry is out of a number of items and needs donations of shampoo, toothpaste, spaghetti sauce, corn, pork and beans...and cash is helpful too. Hours are 9 til noon Tuesdays and Fridays. Call 712-642-2598 for more information.
