HERE’S WHATS HAPPENING IN OUR AREA…


This coming Thursday, Joe Wiegand is performing as Teddy Roosevelt at the Missouri Valley Public Library starting at 6pm


A Lunch and Learn Tuesday, April 22nd is “All About Bees” with Melanie Kaeding at the Washington County Chamber of Commerce Office. It runs from noon til 1pm and is free, but you must register beforehand – by email at Events@WashingtonCountyChamberNE.com or by calling 402-533-4455


The author of “If these Bricks could Talk – Donna Henton, is giving a history talk next Monday, April 14th, 7pm at the Blair Public Library. Mrs. Henton will be focusing on 17th street from Lincoln to Front street. The Monroe Block, Baltrush Supply and McQuarrie Lumber are among the areas discussed. There is no charge to attend this informative presentation.


A go fund me account has been established to help the Reed family of Fort Calhoun to help defray medical costs related to breast cancer.


The City of Blair’s Spring Clean up runs – now through April 19th. Dumpsters for yard waste will be available at the Blair Public Works Building – 4 to 6pm Monday through Friday and 10am to 5pm on the weekends. Open burn will be allowed but only with a burn permit – and is also subject to weather and dry conditions.


The Washington County Area Chamber of Commerce annual golf fundraiser is May 9th at River Wilds. Proceeds from this event go towards scholarships for Washington County seniors. Four person teams should register by May 2nd. More details can be found by emailing directorWashingtonCountyChamberNE.com
