The current Washington County Board of Supervisors sets the pay for the upcoming boards and other elected county officials.
The salaries for the assessor, county clerk, county deeds, treasurer and clerk of the district court, and those elected to the board of supervisors, will be increased over the four years starting in 2023 by six percent the first two years, 5 percent the third year and 4 percent for the 4th year.
The board looked at wages set for the same offices in other counties of similar size. Those changes approved at yesterday's board meeting.
Board members say they do not want to lose employees to other counties that may offer better pay.
