THREE CANDIDATES VIE FOR POLICE CHIEF POSITION IN BLAIR
Blair Police Chief Joe Lager earlier this year announced his plans to retire April 11th. The City of Blair began a search for a new chief of police at that time.
The city’s Civil Service Commission, city staff, and Morrow and Associates have narrowed down the candidates to three: Jeremy Kinsey, currently with the LaVista Police Department and an Air Force Veteran, along with being a graduate of the FBI National academy; Jon Kramer, currently with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office with a master’s degree in Criminal Justice; and Dr. Steve Rathman who is serving as the Chief of Police in Plattsmouth, Nebraska in addition to being an adjunct professor at Doane University.
Those three will have on-site interviews in the upcoming days. The finalist will be announced by Mayor Mindy Rump at the Blair City Council meeting on April 8th.
