More Changes for the Missouri River

Releases from Gavin’s Point Dam are being dialed down according to the Army Corps of Engineers.

Releases were raised to 30 thousand cubic feet per second earlier this month to lower water levels in reservoirs in preparation for spring thaw. With that achieved, the Corps says the releases are being reduced to 27 thousand cubic feet per second starting today.

Officials are concerned that if the water levels on the reservoirs falls too low, water intakes for area communities will not be able to draw water.
