Washington County Sheriff’s Office Part of “Drive Sober or get Pulled Over”.
Eighteen area law enforcement agencies are participating in the grant funded “Drive Sober or get Pulled Over” campaign that started Friday. The Washington County Sheriff’s office is among those agencies.
A kick off of the campaign Friday in Omaha had an exercise in which law enforcement officers demonstrated the levels of intoxication and standard field sobriety tests. Even below the legal limit for blood alcohol, those participating showed impairment that affected eye focus, lowered alertness and other symptoms which would impact a drivers ability to operate a vehicle safely.
The sheriff strongly encourages use of a designated driver if you plan to imbibe.
