The Judicial Nominating Commission for County Court Judge in the Seventh Judicial District advanced five names for consideration by Governor Jim Pillen: Benjamin Borgmann of Beemer; Bradley Ewalt from Stanton; Danielle Fliam from Lincoln; Chelsey Hartner of Madison and Ted Lohrberg from Pierce. The Seventh Judicial District consists of Antelope, Cuming, Knox, Madison, Pierce, Stanton, and Wayne counties. The vacancy is due to the retirement of Judge Donna Farrell Taylor.

Fredrick Junior Blom, age 75 of Missouri Valley, Iowa, passed away March 11, 2026 at his home in rural Missouri Valley after a short battle with cancer. Justice Derek R. Vaughn was recently appointed to the Nebraska Supreme Court. This now leaves a vacancy in the Fourth Judicial District, which consists of Douglas County. Four names Tuesday have advanced for consideration by Governor Jim Pillen. Erin Hurley, Michael Jensen, Aimee Melton and David Wear, all of whom are Omaha Residents.
