Several public hearings and presentations were provided to the Blair City Council at Tuesday night’s council meeting. Among them, a representative for the Easter Seals Nebraska organization, which acquired a portion of the former Dana College Campus in Blair. Lutheran Family Services also has property on Transformation Hill – as part of the repurposing of the property that had sat vacant for over ten years. Fire crews are monitoring the scene for any flair ups after a trailer home fire this morning at Country Estates Park just south of Blair. Witnesses say one home was fully engulfed, the owner had left for work earlier in the morning. The homeowners dog did perish in that fire.     Crews from Fort Calhoun, Kennard and Blair responded to that fire, no human fatalities or injuries are reported at this time. (stock photo below)

68 year old Gary Spracklin of Omaha passed away January 26. He is survived by his wife, Corrine, siblings Carol Kucera, Jeff Spracklin and Barb Romans and their families. The Celebration of Life will be at a later date. 86 year old Carmela Taylor Coleman of Bellevue passed away January 22nd.
